Sometimes, you don't need the whole village, just a few friendly neighbors. Members can enjoy deepening relationships with others by attending these events led by members in the same micro-season.
Playgroups
Although anyone is welcome to plan and coordinate a playdate at any time, our Playgroup Leaders plan at least one playdate each month. Members are encouraged to reach out to their playgroup leader to coordinate more casual, last minute, pop-up playdates as needed by the group. Members and their children are invited to join events hosted by any playgroup - unless otherwise noted (usually based on space constraints). If you have multiple children and aren’t sure if they can all attend, please reach out to the host and just ask! Usually, all ages are welcome!
Babies until First Steps
This one is really more for the moms! Bring your baby and a blanket for your baby to lay on. Mom’s typically rotate between each other’s houses and local story times. Baby friendly day time meet ups such as coffee, lunch and mall walks are a great way to fill the day for maternity leave and stay at home parents! Expand your parent network with other parents during evening and weekend playdates.
Toddlers thru Two’s
These playdates are geared toward the walkers who need more activities and space to play. We typically meet at a local park for the littles to play or at a restaurant for a Mom’s Night Out sans kiddos.
Preschoolers: 3’s to 5’s
This is our preschooler playgroup. These kiddos are even more on the move and becoming more and more social in their play. Our playdates are sometimes just a park and picnic, or maybe even a meet up at the treefort, other fun play area or a special event at the library. Sometimes it's holiday fun at someone's house usually with a craft and lots of giggles. Anyone in the group is welcome to host! We are so excited for this year!
Working Mom's Playgroups
This group hosts playdates on weekends and some evenings after work hours. Meet other moms who are learning to juggle work and the demands of kiddos. Some of our members with the most years in the PTA are these moms and they have a wealth of knowledge to share!
Adult Interest Groups
Book Club
Generally meets the 2nd Tuesday of every other month at 8pm.
We are a casual group so come as you are, straight from work or ready for bed or somewhere in between. We do discuss the book but also socialize and give other book recommendations. We also do our best to pick books on the free library apps.
Look forward to see you at our next book club!
Game Night
Game nights pop up about once every other month. It is a very casual group and no prior game knowledge is required. This group typically meets at a member’s home or a local meeting space and each attendee brings a game or two that the group selects from. Bring your own snacks, drinks, and be ready for a good time!
Working Mom Socials
The Working Moms group hosts monthly, informal social events to meet, network, support, unwind, and bond with other working parents. Typical get togethers include happy hours, Friday lunches, bowling, movie nights, holiday parties, and more... come join us!
Saturday Stroller Walkers
New this year! Members meet with babies/kids in tow (strollers, trikes, scooters all welcome) for a quick coffee before hitting the paved trail. This group meets 2 times a month.
Parent’s Afternoon Out
These events are in the works for Spring 2025. Events in the past have included a painting class, crafting/ art class, cooking, group fitness, a trip to the nail salon, swimming at a member’s pool, movie night, or even a freezer meal exchange party. We make it easy by coordinating the activity AND even tee up the sitter!
Dads Group
Dad's who want to get together with other dad's. We want to get some things on the calendar for y'all! It's as easy as reaching out with a date, time and place and we will help get the word out to all our members! Please reach out to interestgroups@lhaecpta.org to get something on the calendar!
Not seeing a group you're interested in... start one! Reach out to interestgroups@lhaecpta.org and share your idea.
