Scholarship Application

Details

 

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must:

1. Residency: Student must reside in the DFW Metroplex.


2. Academic Achievement: Student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8.


3. Volunteer Hours: Student must have completed at least 30 hours of volunteer service with LHAECPTA unless their parent is or was an LHAECPTA member.


4. Extracurricular Involvement: Student must participate in at least one extracurricular activity at their school.


5. Essay Submission: Applicants must write a 500-word essay reflecting on an experience from their early childhood that positively influenced their life.


6. Parent Volunteer Contribution (Optional):

Current or Former LHAECPTA Members: No parent volunteer hours required.

Non-LHAECPTA Members: If a parent volunteers with LHAECPTA during the scholarship year, they may contribute up to 5% of their child’s total points. All parent volunteers must pass a background check.

 

7) Fill out this form in its entirety and submit it (an email "receipt" will be sent to you with a copy of your submission)

 

8) Submit two recommendations 1 letter from a teacher or school counselor, and 1 letter from a community leader or volunteer supervisor 

 

Deadline

This application must be submitted on-line on or before February 2nd.
